PREPARE THE BLADE
The most importance step is to start with a sharp razor. Sharpen your razor with a leather strop before shaving. Nobody wants to try and shave with a dull blade! It takes a little practice to learn the technique, but the effort is worth the patience once you achieve that close shave.
MAKE SURE YOUR FACIAL HAIR IS SOFT
Apply a pre shave cream or oil to soften the moisturize the skin and soften your hair. Using a shaving cream and shaving brush apply to the skin.
SHAVING TECHINQUE
Place the straight razor in your hand with this basic grip: index, middle, and ring finger on the top of the shank with the thumb in the center at the back and your pinky resting on the blade’s handle.
Begin shaving by holding the skin tight and angle the blade at 30 degrees. Pass the blade in the angle of your hair growth with light smooth strokes.
Rinse away excess hair after every stroke.
Once you’ve shaved the whole area once. Rinse, reapply shaving cream and run the razor against the direction of hair growth.
When you are finished rinse with warm water to remove excess shaving cream and cool water to close the pores. Apply your favorite aftershave.
BLADE MAINTENANCE
